Chanel's LA Cruise show just brought back yet another iconic look, and I am obsessed. 

THE INSPIRATION

A hair look that is full of life and movement with volume at the roots, this iconic blowout was featured numerously during the Chanel 2023 LA Cruise show.

The hairstyle is an homage to Cindy Crawford's signature look from the 90's. We all remember the classic voluminous blow dried hair that Crawford sported during her peak modeling days.

Her hair was always perfectly bouncy, inspiring a look and feel of being clean and healthy. We may not have Cindy Crawford's personal hairstylist, Richard Marin, at our disposal, but we can still achieve this look.

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT 90'S BLOWOUT

My hair has always been reluctant to hold a curl. An hour after styling it to perfection, it falls back into the same straight texture that it was before I had started. Once I began following these steps, I found that this voluminous style lasted all night.

Hair Prep:
You want to first spray a detangling heat protectant over your hair in order to keep it safe from the heat that we will be applying to it later on. Then, as we want the majority of the volume to originate at the roots of our hair, layer on the mousse in this area.

Drying:
Section your hair and use a large round brush to blow dry from your roots to your ends. You should lift the root away from your head as you dry in order to create that lifted and voluminous look. As you reach the mid-lengths and ends, wrap the hair around the brush and roll it under for a smooth, polished look. Use the the nozzle attachment on your hairdryer to concentrate the airflow and maximize control. Repeat this process section by section until all of your hair is dry.

Styling:
Once your hair is completely dry, you can use hot rollers or a curling iron to add soft waves or curls if desired. Finish with a light mist of hairspray to hold the style in place without weighing it down.

Remember, everyone's hair is unique, so feel free to adapt the technique and products to suit your hair type and desired outcome. Experimenting and practice will help you refine the technique and achieve the perfect Cindy Crawford-inspired blow dry.
